The following tour is here to give you an indication of what you can do with us along the Garden Route. We offer a personalised service and therefore aspects of the tour can be changed to meet your requirements:
DAY 1
We pick you up in Cape Town at a place of your choice after you have had breakfast. We set off
for the Garden Route via Hermanus, a quaint seaside town, on the way we drive the coastal scenic route taking
in the fantastic scenery along the way. On reaching Hermanus we take a drive along Marine Drive enjoying
the cliffs and coves along the way, in season (July to November) we could be lucky to spot some of the
Southern Right whales frolicking in the bay. We continue on our journey to Stanford where we enjoy a light
lunch at a charming restaurant there. From here we wind our way through the farming areas inland from the
coast. We get to The Garden Route Game Lodge in time to check in for our evening game drive, where we
could see among others, lion, rhino, elephant, cheetah, Kudu, eland, and Zebra among many other species
found here. We stop for a sundowner en route and then return to our cozy accommodation for dinner in the
beautiful Serengetti restaurant.
Meals: Lunch and dinner.

DAY 2
Make sure you bring warm clothing for your early game drive, it could be cool. After our game
drive we can look forward to an appetizing breakfast followed by a guided tour of the Reptile Park and cheetah
conservation centre. All done we continue on our journey and our next port of call is the harbor town of
Mossel Bay where we take pleasure in the old sandstone buildings found in abundance in this historical town.
We can visit the harbor or go to the Point where we see the Cape St. Blaize lighthouse and cave or the Diaz
Museum and Post Office Tree where we learn about the early European visitors to this area. Lunch can be
enjoyed at one of the restaurants or we can go to the harbor where we can buy take-away calamari or fish and
chips fresh from the sea. Our next stop is in Sedgefield and we travel along the old lakes road from Wilderness
to our awesome accommodation for the next two nights on the shores of Swartvlei lagoon. We enjoy the sun
setting behind us while we have some refreshment from the honesty bar there. Tonight we travel a few
Kilometers to the village and enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

DAY 3
Whatever you do, do not miss the sunrise over the lake, it is one of the most beautiful sites on
the Garden Route (one of our hidden secrets, do not tell anyone). After our mouthwatering breakfast we head
for the beautiful town of Knysna where we will be taking a ferry to Featherbed Bay Nature reserve, the ferry
plies its way across the beautiful Knysna Lagoon, on arrival we board a 4X4 train and proceed with the tour of
the reserve stopping from time to enjoy the scenery and for photographic opportunities. On reaching the end
of this trail we have the option of taking a twenty minute walk through the most awe inspiring terrain with
views of the heads, sea and lagoon, or returning on the vehicle to the restaurant where we enjoy a tasteful
lunch before our return ferry. Our next stop is the Knysna Elephant Park where you have the opportunity of
close contact with the elephants, each person gets a bucket of food (fruit etc.) and you have the chance of
feeding these gentle giants. In order to cater for all preferences we have a range of inspiring experiences. The
Daily Tour provides the shorter experience of meeting, feeding and interacting with our gentle giants. For
longer experiences, at an extra charge, we offer Elephant Back Rides or Walks, while the Exclusive Sunrise /
Sunset Safaris and Sundowners provide more private and intimate encounters these should be organized in
advance. Elephant back rides and walks 2 hours @ R750.00 per adult. Exclusive sunset safari @ R1186.00 per
adult (starts at 16h30). We return to our lakeside accommodation where they will prepare a traditional braai

After an early breakfast we depart for Oudtshoorn crossing the Outeniqua Mountains via the
Outeniqua Pass where we can see the old passes on the other side of the valley. On reaching Oudtshoorn we
decide which two of the three activities we will partake in. The choices are Cango Caves, Cango Ostrich Farm or
Cango Wildlife Ranch. We do our activities and then enjoy a light lunch before leaving for Prince Albert on the
other side of the Swartberg Mountains, our crossing is on the Swartberg Pass an ancient pass built by Sir
Thomas Bain and completed in 1887 using convict labour. We stop along the way for photographic
opportunities and refreshments. On reaching Prince Albert we book into our accommodation and relax before
dinner at one of the quaint restaurants here. The night skies are exceptional in the Karoo and one can enjoy
the peace while stargazing.

DAY 5
We have an early breakfast once again because to-day we return to Cape Town some 600Km’s
distant. Our first port of call is the tiny village of Klaarstroom through which we take a slow drive, then on to
Meiringspoort gorge through the mountains, crossing the river many times before we exit at De rust on the
other side. The gorge is a showcase of how scenic routes should be built through mountains, the Cape fold
formations found here are totally awe inspiring. We continue along the famous R62 route passing through
Oudtshoorn, Calitzdorp, Ladismith, Barrydale and Montagu and then onwards to Worcester where we (time
permitting) visit the Karoo National Botanical Gardens. We continue through the 3.9Km long Dutoitskloof
tunnel to Cape Town where we book in for our last night together.

DAY 6
Today we enjoy some of the highlights of Cape Town, we travel to the top of Table Mountain in
the Cableway enjoying the scenery and nature found here. We have the opportunity to do a short walk on the
tabletop where we will get all the different views of the beautiful city below us. On returning we depart for the
V & A Waterfront where we enjoy lunch before our tour of the Two Oceans Aquarium in the harbor area. Here
we see some of the wonders of the ocean at close quarters; here the brave can dive with the sharks at an extra
fee. Once we have satisfied ourselves here we drop you off at a place of your choice and unfortunately here
we say goodbye. TILL WE MEET AGAIN!
