Addo Elephant Park
Addo Elephant Park
For Elephant lovers this is the place to be! The park was set up in 1931 when there were only eleven elephants left in the area. Since then it has vastly expanded to having over 400 elephants.
What a lot of people don’t know is that Addo is the only National Park in South Africa that is the home of the "Big 7" (lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard, whales and great white sharks.) All of these animals are in their natural habitats!
The park is situated in the Eastern Cape by the Sundays River. It truly is a breath taking spot. The greatest thing about this park is that it is very affordable and every time you go there, you are contributing money to the massive conservation projects that are still ongoing there.
The accommodation there is also exquisite hosting beautiful camp sites, cottages and chalets beside the waterhole which is illuminated at night. Self catering is also an option.
