Sun City and the Lost City lie in the middle of an extended savannah and is known as the Las Vegas of southern Africa. The formal independence of the area made it possible for the businessman Sol Kerzner to set up this complex which offers gambling and among other things, striptease.

This is bizarre as it is quite close to the population centres, Johannesburg and Pretoria where these activities had been forbidden in the Calvinist old South Africa. On the other hand, internationally famous entertainers like rock stars perform here. So you never know who you might bump into!

Nowadays Sun City has since lost its reputation of sin. It is now known for its luxurious hotels, beautiful water gardens, flawless golf courses, unusual gambling halls, exclusive casinos and first-class entertainment shows (What a change heh!)

The latest attraction is the Lost City. Unlike the rest of Sun City the Lost City is very family orientated, with most of it being a giant water park. It was planned in the style of a sunken, legendary African town. When you walk in you may be lucky in experiencing a fake earthquake. Now that’s what I call cool. Not only that but it is beautifully situated and divine decorations and is bound to get you and your children’s imaginations running into overtime. So it’s no wonder that Sun City attracts more than 25.000 visitors every day.
